2021 Presentation Trends We’re Noticing For Q2

There’s no doubt that while we’ve all embraced more change than we care to remember in the past year, more change is being thrown at us daily. What we’ve noticed during the first quarter of 2021 is that the leaders and the companies that embraced change continue to thrive. So, what change can you expect in the remaining quarters for the remainder of the year? What trends and tips will bring your speaking and your presentations to the next level in 2021? We’ve put a lot of thought into this, compiling a list of 3 presentation trends we’ve found successful lately.

Embrace Vulnerability

Whether it’s breaking the ice as an opening story or driving home a key point in your presentation – authenticity is king. If ever there was an event that forced us to give up the act of “having it all together”, it’s Zoom calls with our kids fighting in the background. And those don’t seem to be going away any time soon. When we embrace the fact that we’re human and we aren’t the hero of every story, it unites everyone in the room. There’s nothing more powerful than being authentic with your audience.

Less is More

We’re looking at busy screens all day, whether it’s our KPI report or our inboxes. Let your presentations be a place that lets the eye rest. Make sure you’re working in sufficient white space into your designs. In the design world two things are certain: No one likes Comic Sans and minimalism is here to stay. The temptation is real to try and jazz things up a bit without your normal commute or work atmosphere. While it’s okay to improve your deck in your down time, don’t over-do the design.

Use Social Media

Our presentations are no longer trapped in the boardroom – we can share our ideas and our designs with everyone using social platforms’ new carousel posts. Create multiple slide decks specifically for your social media accounts that invite people to keep discovering more with each click. And while you’re at it- give us a follow on our social media accounts!
