A Review of the InFocus Work Big

What’s Hot.
5-segment color wheel with 2500 lumens displays realistic images. Dust-free system and absence of fan filters and lamp screens allow for easy maintenance. Multiple connection ports make switching between presenters a snap.

What’s Not.
Not much to report here. Some believe it to be on the bulky side.

The bottom line.
The InFocus Work Big projector is an easy-to-use and easier-to-maintain system that works well with standard meeting room controls and SVGA media. At $599, the Work Big projector produces more bang for the buck than you would expect.

The InFocus Work Big DLP projector is an SVGA meeting room projector with Brilliant Color technology and an 800 x 600 resolution. The projector features a 5-segment color wheel and is powered by 2500 lumens, which allows you to project clear and realistic images even in brighter environments. With a 2000:1 contrast ratio, the Big Work projector displays darker images well and maintains details. This model proves a smart pick for anyone who frequently uses SVGA pixel range content.

The Work Big projector supports both PC and Mac platforms, allows users to connect multiple computers and audio systems simultaneously and features a wireless-ready port for easy upgrades to InFocus LiteShow II, all of which certainly help reduce the time required to move from one presentation to the next. An RS232 port allows for integration with meeting room control systems.

The minimum screen distance for this projector is 4 feet and the maximum is 33 feet. The projector’s image size range is between 2 and 20 feet.

Unlike my apartment, this projector is a dust-free system. With its IN2100 series, InFocus has eliminated fan filters and lamp screens so maintenance is almost nonexistent. The lamp, which lasts about 3000 hours, is easy to replace without removing a mounted projector from the ceiling. For those needing to keep a close eye on office supplies and technology, the projector comes with a Kensington lock and includes a PIN code feature that prevents unauthorized use.
