I was taking a public speaking course in college and was infatuated with a girl in the class. One of our assignments was to talk about something that was “fun but time wasting.” I decided to talk about daydreaming.
My opening gambit consisted of having the class close their eyes and imagine something they liked doing. My speech called for me to say, “Like going to the beach or doing something fun”. However, it came out like this: “Like going to the beach or doing Melissa.” Which was the name of the young girl that was the subject of my infatuation.The laughter was unbelievable.
