Why You Need To Go Mobile With Your Presentations

Why You Need To Go Mobile With Your Presentations

When most people think of presentations, they typically envision a presenter standing in front of an audience, clicking through slides. While this type of presentation is still a powerful way to share your ideas, it’s definitely not the only way to use slides to spread a message and connect to an audience. For example, instead of restricting yourself to the traditional way of delivering presentations, you should also be delivering your presentations via mobile devices. Here’s why you should think beyond delivering slides from a stage and also deliver presentations via mobile devices:

1. Mobile Presentations Are Convenient

Instead of forcing your sales prospects, colleagues, or partners to take time out of their busy schedules to listen to your presentation, make your presentation convenient for them to access from their mobile devices so they can peruse your slides at their leisure. While presenting in person undoubtedly has it’s perks, some people would rather review your content on their own terms and skip the obligation of a scheduled presentation.

If you have any doubt about the power of delivering content via mobile devices, check out some of these stats from the CMO Council:

–     64% of decision-makers read their e-mail via mobile devices

–     65% of US smartphone users check their phones within 15 minutes of rising.

–     64% check their phones within 15 minutes of going to bed, according to the CMO Council.

–     87% of millennials always have their smartphone at their side, day and night.

–     78% of millennials spend over 2 hours a day using their smartphones.

As you probably would have guessed, the statistics prove that most people love their mobile devices. In fact, phones and tablets are so beloved that 61% of people admit to using mobile devices while going to the bathroom. This means your presentation might be viewed from a restroom stall, or other odd places for business research such as a treadmill, a traffic jam, or a park bench. However, where it is viewed is not important; all that matters is that your slides are viewed. And mobile presentations likely will be viewed simply because people love to look at their phones.

2. Mobile Presentations Can Be Spontaneous

In addition to giving your audience access to your presentation on their mobile devices, you should also carry your presentations in your pocket on your own mobile device.

You never know when you will meet a new prospect for your business. You might strike up a conversation with a prospect in line at the coffee shop or while waiting for your child’s dance recital to start. The possibilities are endless for places you can meet a prospect.

Don’t let a hot lead go cold; skip the business card exchange, email correspondence, appointment scheduling steps and instead deliver a short pitch to the prospect right then and there. To do so, carry your presentation in your pocket by storing your slides on your mobile devices.

To ensure you hook the prospect’s attention without taking up too much of their time during a spontaneous pitch, create a deck especially for pitching prospects while on-the-go. At most, your prospect will be willing to listen to your pitch for a few minutes – which should be plenty of time for you to effectively intrigue the prospect. You probably won’t close a deal during one of these pitches however you will likely be able to secure a follow-up meeting more easily after giving the prospect more information.

3. Mobile Presentations Enhance Event Marketing

Event marketing is often an essential part of business marketing strategies. According to SocialFresh67% of B2B marketers think event marketing is the most effective marketing strategy. In addition, more than half of business travelers stated that 5-20% of their company’s new customers were the result of trade show participation, according to the key research findings noted in The Return on Investment of U.S. business travel,

If you plan to market your products or services at an event, mobile presentations can help you engage the crowd of attendees and stand out from the competition. For example, you can arm your event staff with iPads that they can use to show attendees a short, informative pitch deck. In addition, you can install iPads at your booth so attendees can flip through the slides at their own pace.

4. Mobile Presentations Have Helpful Features

Last, but definitely not least, when you deliver presentations digitally, you have access to features that are not available to you when you present from a stage. For example, with mobile presentations, you will have access to helpful information such as who looked at your presentation, the slides that were viewed, and the amount of time spent on each slide.
